Ukrainian language derives from the old Slavonic language of the country of the Early Middle Ages – Kievan Rus and is a direct descendant of the spoken language of that state. During that period it was also called – the Ruthenian language.
The Ukrainian language as any other languages in the world has its own special features which in their turn make it difficult to translate the texts into Ukrainian. Some of them are:
● hard sign is absent, the apostrophe is used instead of it;
● there exists the seventh case - vocative, for example: Olezhe! Though in the nominative case this name is spelled as Oleg;
● the nouns of the 2nd declension in the dative case have the endings - ovi, - evi, for example: bratovi;
● there are also dialects in the Ukrainian language, their number is not so great (2 to 4) and not knowing them, you can make serious mistakes in the translation.
